Your Privacy Policy is an important document that explains how you handle client data and information. If you have affiliates, or outsource money management, then you will disclose the fact that your are sharing client data with other firms. Also, included in all privacy policies is a statement that any state regulator has access to any client's data and information due to their oversight and examination responsibilities. Further, if you have solicitors who bring clients to your firm, then they must be listed on the privacy policy, too. The best policy is to disclose all relationships that may have access to sensitive client data.
